Caladium schomburgkii

Origin of the plant in the photos: received from R. Mansell in spring of 1997

This tiny caladium did not survive the winter; I think I managed to kill it by keeping it too dry. I have another very similar looking caladium which has spend the winter being rained upon by El Nino and is doing quite OK now.

Closeup of the leaf, which is not peltate. There is a small red spot right at where the petiole meets the leaf.
General habit of the plant. This is a tiny specimen; the leaves are about 2-3 inches long.
